At Millbrook Park CE Primary School, we believe that every child has the right to flourish. Guided by our Christian vision, we are committed to creating an inclusive school where every pupil is known, valued and supported to achieve their very best.
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that every child is unique, bringing different strengths, experiences and needs. Rather than lowering expectations, we adapt our teaching to remove barriers so that every pupil can fully access an ambitious curriculum, participate in school life and achieve success.
Our Inclusive Approach
High-quality teaching is the first and most important support for every child. Our adaptive teaching approach is informed by the Education Endowment Foundation's (EEF) five evidence-informed approaches to inclusion:
- High Quality Explanations – carefully sequenced teaching, explicit modelling and clear explanations.
- Effective Classroom Talk – developing language, vocabulary, reasoning and confidence through purposeful discussion.
- Responsive Teaching – adapting teaching in response to pupils' understanding and ongoing assessment.
- Scaffolding – providing appropriate support that is gradually removed as pupils become independent learners.
- Challenge – maintaining high expectations and ambitious learning for every child.
These approaches enable all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), disadvantaged pupils, pupils learning English as an Additional Language (EAL), and those with high prior attainment, to succeed alongside their peers.

We carefully assess pupils' needs, monitor progress and work in partnership with families to provide the right support at the right time. Through adaptive teaching, targeted interventions and a commitment to continual improvement, we ensure that every child can access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential.
Children with particular talents or high prior attainment are equally supported through appropriate challenge, enrichment opportunities and a curriculum that encourages curiosity, creativity and deep thinking.
